Immunity Boosting Lemon Ginger Tea
Feeling stuffy, with a scratchy throat and achy muscles? This lemon ginger tea is my favorite drink to soothe all of those things and I drink it almost everyday throughout the winter months. The warmth and spice from the ginger warms me to the core and the crisp lemon with the honey soothes my aches.
Recipe:
Chop a good amount of fresh ginger (1 - 2" piece of fresh ginger) finely or grate on a grating plane
Heat 3 cups of water and add the ginger to the hot water and allow it to steep 3 - 4 minutes
Squeeze 1 - 2 fresh lemons into the ginger and water and bring to a light rolling boil
Add 2 Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger Herbal Tea bags - steep for 4-6 minutes
Remove the tea bags
Add 2 - 3 tablespoons of honey (to your liking) and stir
Variations: you can add a pinch of cinnamon or cinnamon stick to the pot or add a pinch of turmeric for a different spice.
Strain the hot liquid into a cup and enjoy!
There will be leftover tea for another cup later.
